in the path of righteousness.
Hey ππΏ,
Psalm 23:3b KJV
[3] ........ He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Where does a sheep go?
The answer is wherever the shepherd leads. Climbing mountains, strolling into valleys, meandering through grassy plains as long as the shepherd is in the front, leading them.
We see in Galatians 2:20 NIV
[20] I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
It's no big news that we cannot earn salvation through our own righteousness and God knowing this sent His son to show us the way.
2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV
[21] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Jesus is the way, He is also our Good Shepherd. No one can go to the Father except through Him.
Jesus graciously gave us his own righteousness, clothing us in His Holiness.
Ephesians 4:24 KJV
[24] and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
He died that we may live.
First borns can relate to the fact that they have to strive to set good examples. We call them the first try, we see their errors, we learn from their mistakes and we try to be better. Jesus is our first born, thankfully He is without error but He bears the scars of our own errors, shielding us and guiding us because He is the way. He gives His angels charge over us that we may not strike our foot against stone.
This God we serve did not just show the way but He is going to lead you through the way. He's your God in the storm and even in the calm. He promises never to leave nor forsake us. π€
One song that reminds me of this verse is "Lead me on by Chandler Moore".
As sheep that follows the Good Shepherd, let's trust Him and obey all His instructions, a disobedient sheep is one who goes astray.
Happy First Sunday and a peaceful new week in Jesus's Name, Amen ππΏ.
