A table in my enemies midst
Hey๐๐ฟ,
Let's look at the verse of today,
Psalms 23:5a NIV
[5] You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies....
Omo this one is deep and it has various interpretations and understanding. We use it to pray in different situations too because we're faced with several enemies.
The Bible let's us know that we do not fight against the carnal but principalities and powers. The Bible also let's us know that we are overcomers in Christ Jesus.
The Israelites were faced with a turmoil. The red sea at their front, the Egyptians at their back.
David held a slingshot against an over 9ft Giant with his own people at his back waiting and watching for him to fail.
Hannah, a barren woman whose co-wife was a mother to seven children and all she had was the whisperings of a woman whose desire was so strong that she was presumed drunk by the Priest .
1 Samuel 1:15-16 NIV says,
[15] “Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord. [16] Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief.”
What did the Lord do?
A way was made for the Israelites in a situation considered impossible. (Like the sea parted ๐ญ why are we acting like it's not a big deal? Jesus said that's not enough, and made a stormy sea His highway ๐๐ฟ.)
A stone was shot, a giant dropped and the victory was for the Lord.
Hannah went on to have Samuel and because she kept her promise to God, she was blessed with more children.
God is a God that makes the impossible, possible. The trials of life do not have the final say.
Lamentations 3:37 NIV
[37] Who can speak and have it happen if the Lord has not decreed it?
The situation doesn't determine your victory, it has been set in stone since time began. We are not defeated, we will not be broken down. The Children of God will wax stronger, a righteous man will fall seven times and will still rise again.
Your table is set, come and dine with the Lord. Look unto the hills for where comes your help, your help that comes from the Lord.
The Lord promises He will never leave nor forsake us, He says are you not more valuable than birds who do not sow nor reap but are provided for by the Lord?
Let's sit with the Lord this new week, this week that is the second to the last week of the year.
This is a week of Thanksgiving, let's recount the dishes the Lord has served us in the midst of impossibilities.
Have a beautiful week.
Your accountability partner in Christ, Gloria๐.
Shalom ๐ซ.
