In green pastures...

Psalms 23:2 NIV‬

[2] He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,


Green pastures for sheep represent food in abundance. Quiet waters probably symbolises absence of crocodiles, water snakes or dangerous water creatures. 


What we understand from here is that this sheep is at peace and is quite contented. 

He's surrounded by food he can eat for days also he can drink water from rivers without worrying about dangerous sea creatures. All his basic needs are provided for.


Jeremiah 17:7-8 speaks on a person who trusts the Lord, whose confidence is in him.

‭Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV‬

[7] “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. [8] They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”



Also in Psalms 34:10 , it let's us know that the righteous can never go hungry. Never.


Jesus has told us, that in this world we'll surely have trouble but regardless He has promised us peace. We don't have to worry about meat, food, what we'll wear, where to sleep and so on.


Like this sheep as long as we're with the Lord, we'll surely lie down in green pastures. A thousand shall fall at our side, ten thousand at our right hand but it will not come near us.


Dear reader, what do you do in green pastures? What do you do beside quiet waters? Surely you should intend to rest and drink your fill, right?

So why are you worrying or isn't the Lord your shepherd?

In the Bible we are made to understand that the Lord is the Good Shepherd.


Jesus says, "come, .....I will give you rest."

Submit your week into His hands and "allow" Him to cook 🤍


May the peace of the Lord encompass our hearts and minds in Jesus's Name. Amen.

Surely God's goodness....

Hey👋🏿, Psalm 23:6 KJV‬ [6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. A prayer to end the Psalms of a sheep who is content with it's shepherd.  We've followed the sheep lore all the way from where he introduced the Lord as his Shepherd, told us the good and loving deeds, made us understand he had no fears or worries and that he carries an anointing that overflows from it's cup.   And now he claims the goodness and mercy of his Shepherd (some translations say, "Surely His goodness and mercy....") We've come into the New year by God's grace and I encourage us to claim this prayer as simple as it is. Goodness of a good God, His mercies that endureth forever. May God's goodness and mercy follow us not just in this new year but all the days of our lives and we will dwell in the House of the Lord forever and ever, Amen. A heart of thanksgiving

Hey👋🏿, Gratitude a key word in living a life that glorifies God.  Man was created for God's pleasure and if you're looking for purpose.. here it is.  This topic was coined from the topic treated in my church where the woman who taught took us down the memory lane and showed us the necessity of saying thank you in all situations and not just when you feel comfortable.  Someone could be going through worse.  Jesus said surely you'd have trouble in this world. I believe Thanksgiving is a child of God's approach to situations that are not exactly pleasant. Jesus said in all things give thanks. Do not be anxious for anything.
