I shall not want

I hope we all had a beautiful service today 🤗.
We continue our series on Psalm 23

We thank God for provision🙌🏿.
We understand that provision comes in various forms; edibles, money, land, e.t.c.... infact the appearance of something that soothes a need is provision.
As former economics student, we all know that needs are greater than wants as they are priorities and have to be taken care of to live unlike wants which are random desires of the heart.
Now we see David writing as a sheep being led by the Lord who is his shepherd and he's saying that because the Lord is his shepherd he shall not want. 

There are many ways to look at this and this phrase has been used in many contexts but the one we all agree on is that this sheep is fed well.

He lacks nothing because he follows God.
And this surplus greatly impacts even the spiritual. 

‭James 1:5 NIV‬
[5] If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

I want us to understand that you cannot lack except you didn't ask. I'm not referencing our ( sorry 🫣..my) daily dreams of who will suddenly credit us 10 million naira or when we'll finally meet Asherkine 🫠.

We cannot want because we have a heavenly Father and that when He promises provision, adverbs like abundantly comes into place. 

  • He gives life abundantly... John 10:10

  • [8] And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. ..2nd Cor 9:8

  • My God will supply all your needs according to His riches of Glory in Christ Jesus. ...Phil 4:19

So as we go into this new week let's assume positions of supplication. Ask and you will receive. 🤍

Surely God's goodness....

Hey👋🏿, Psalm 23:6 KJV‬ [6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. A prayer to end the Psalms of a sheep who is content with it's shepherd.  We've followed the sheep lore all the way from where he introduced the Lord as his Shepherd, told us the good and loving deeds, made us understand he had no fears or worries and that he carries an anointing that overflows from it's cup.   And now he claims the goodness and mercy of his Shepherd (some translations say, "Surely His goodness and mercy....") We've come into the New year by God's grace and I encourage us to claim this prayer as simple as it is. Goodness of a good God, His mercies that endureth forever. A heart of thanksgiving

Hey👋🏿, Gratitude a key word in living a life that glorifies God.  Man was created for God's pleasure and if you're looking for purpose.. here it is.  This topic was coined from the topic treated in my church where the woman who taught took us down the memory lane and showed us the necessity of saying thank you in all situations and not just when you feel comfortable.  Someone could be going through worse.  Jesus said surely you'd have trouble in this world. I believe Thanksgiving is a child of God's approach to situations that are not exactly pleasant. Jesus said in all things give thanks. Do not be anxious for anything.
