Thanks again?
HeyππΏ,
Like give thanks that you're alive to give thanks. Give thanks in the morning, that you can walk around, that you're alive, that you're not hooked up to any machine. Give thanks because you're glad in your heart. Give thanks even when you're mourning. Give thanks in Joy and even in pain.
Give thanks when you're confused and even when you feel like asking why... Because I believe that thanksgiving is best way to begin communicating with God.
We're told that when we pray we should start with Thanksgiving ..not confession of sins but thanksgiving... Admiration.
I want to say thanksgiving is telling God you trust Him because you're obeying the scripture. And we keep being told that a grateful person will mostly get their needs solved than an ungrateful person. We're told that it's easier to give to someone who says thank you than one who doesn't.
But that's human understanding. That's human behaviour and classifying God with that isn't true. This is because He is a God who makes the rain fall on both the just and unjust, the godly and the ungodly. He puts food on the table for even those who don't know Him. He died for those who hadn't yet accepted Him.. " for while we were yet sinners Christ died for us"
So saying thank you to God because you want Him to keep helping you isn't what thanksgiving is about.
We give thanks for who He is and not just what He has done and that's what enables you to keep giving thanks even when you can't see God moving in your situation.
He will help you because He loves you and it is an unconditional love. Saying thank you because of what he has done sometimes tend to feel selfish on your part. You'd feel guilty because you know the next thing you want to do after thanksgiving is pray for a need and I tend to feel a little less selfish when this need is about my walk with God not my physical needs π .
So yes thank God because He's God, thank God because He's good and thank God because that's a chance to speak God's love language. You'd turn to a Solomon speaking about his beautiful wife in Songs of Solomon.
You'd be out there composing rhymes, rhythm and songs of how good He has been to you.
You see how good it feels when you hear Yoruba speak singing (I can't remember the exact word) praises of what a person has done and the person shoulders will just rise..
Or when it's a worship song like Eti Tobi to
By OMG choir, there's a joy that comes with Thanksgiving and I believe doctors will definitely recommend it in a world driven to depression by the lies of the devil.
Give thanks today, it's exciting to speak out that miracle that showed that God indeed is wiser than our foolishness.
Have a blessed week π€

This particular blog is going to be a long read but I definitely recommend that you read and digest this π«ΆπΏπ€.
If you really follow this blog you'd notice I touched on Thanksgiving two weeks ago but here it is once more.
Why? Thanks again?
If you don't understand the importance of this then you need to re-evaluate your walk with God.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV
[18] give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
