Forgiveness

Hey πŸ‘‹πŸΏ,

Colossians 3:13 NIV
[13] Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Forgiveness is one of the core values of the Christian journey. If you don't forgive, you're disobeying one of Jesus's instructions.

Matthew 6:15 NIV
[15] But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Also seen in Mark as:
Mark 11:25 NIV
[25] And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

What enabled us to inherit sonship is that the Father had to forgive you for your sins.
There is no salvation without forgiveness.
When we pray we ask God for forgiveness because sin is what caused the fall and when you've sinned you're fallen.

We all pray to be Christlike but let's not forget that Jesus forgave us our sins even when we keep nailing him to the cross almost daily by our little shortcomings here and there but Jesus keeps forgiving us.

You can't be in the image of Christ if you don't forgive because grudge holding is not an emblem of light. If who we say we worship forgives us of much greater sins, what exactly is that sin that you'll hold that won't enable you to attain Christ?
What manner of grudge is more satisfactory than the freedom in Christ Jesus?
What betrayal do you want to store in your heart that will be enough to miss heaven for?
I, unfortunately didn't come to soothe wounds because the best thing for wounds is actual healing and healing occurs when you let it go, stop picking on it, opening it at the slightest inconvenience and wallowing in the pain and sight of the wound.
Allow Jesus to help you move on and into his rest.
The instruction to "come you who are heavily burdened" also involves your pain and what hurts you.
Forgive not because it's easy, forgive because it is actually a command.
If you notice almost all the instructions given by God in the old testament to the Israelites were actually for their benefit. It encouraged cleanliness and faithfulness.

So even this command to forgive because if not we won't be forgiven is still for your own good.
Forgive because I'm not the first person that has probably told you this but if you were asking for a sign, my love here it is 🀍.
May the love of God encompass you all around πŸ«‚.
Have a blessed week 🀍

Shalom 🫢🏿
