A table in my enemies midst

HeyπŸ‘‹πŸΏ, Let's look at the verse of today, Psalms 23:5a NIV‬ [5] You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies....  Omo this one is deep and it has various interpretations and understanding. We use it to pray in different situations too because we're faced with several enemies.  The Bible let's us know that we do not fight against the carnal but principalities and powers. The Bible also let's us know that we are overcomers in Christ Jesus.  The Israelites were faced with a turmoil. The red sea at their front, the Egyptians at their back.  David held a slingshot against an over 9ft Giant with his own people at his back waiting and watching for him to fail.  Hannah, a barren woman whose co-wife was a mother to seven children and all she had was the whisperings of a woman whose desire was so strong that she was presumed drunk by the Priest .  ‭1 Samuel 1:15-16 NIV‬ says, [15] “Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled...

I will fear no evil

Hey πŸ‘‹πŸΏ, Psalms 23:4 NIV‬ [4] Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Reading this verse reminds me of younger me who was so scared of the dark.. (Older me still needs light anyway 🫣).. she'd burrow under the blanket to sleep despite repeated warnings to not cover her head with the blanket from her father. A lot of evil happens in the dark but unfortunately it's now happening in broad daylight. But an interesting fact is that this verse isn't controlled by our calendar or time. Our darkest nights could be at anytime and this verse makes us understand why we don't need to be afraid, it points out our blanket of security which is the fact that Jesus is with us. In church service today, the minister walked us through the significance of the name Immanuel which means God with us. This Psalmist who had fought a lot of wars, dealt with biological children trying to take his life, had ...

in the path of righteousness.

Hey πŸ‘‹πŸΏ, Psalm 23:3b KJV‬ [3] ........ He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Where does a sheep go? The answer is wherever the shepherd leads. Climbing mountains, strolling into valleys, meandering through grassy plains as long as the shepherd is in the front, leading them. We see in Galatians 2:20 NIV [20] I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.  It's no big news that we cannot earn salvation through our own righteousness and God knowing this sent His son to show us the way.   ‭ 2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV‬ [21] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Jesus is the way, He is also our Good Shepherd. No one can go to the Father except through Him.  Jesus graciously gave us his own righteousness, clothing us in His Holiness. ‭Ephesia...
