When you want to quit.

Hey πŸ‘‹πŸΏ,

So i don't have much to say except it feels like the season where you're trying to be consistent and faithful to God but still yield to your fleshly desires can be very draining and depressing.
(Speaking from experience 🫠.)

A very interesting opening right?
One interesting lie the devil tells people who are backsliding is;
" You've started, you might as well satisfy yourself before you go back to God because you know you'll just be feeling guilty right?"

Yield to this voice and within minutes you'd feel like you're far gone and if not for the Godly environment you've built around you- you might just slip away in guilt until you finally kill your conscience.

Then you feel isn't it easier to walk away? To stop living this life, because it feels like no matter how hard you try, it doesn't feel like there's much change in you.

Well first of all, something that has been knocked into my head is that you must not base your walk with God on your feelings.
You're flesh throughout, you had a sinful nature. You become alive in Christ and that means you're dead to flesh. It isn't supposed to be comfortable for you because your flesh isn't really interested in the dying part.
" Like you just want to move on?" (The flesh gasps in shock and betrayal amidst clutching its pearls of burden.)
So yes, you'd often feel like quitting, dropping the pen, dropping the Bible, avoiding quiet time and just being worldly busy.
That's why we need the Holy Spirit 🎢🎢...( Sings amidst the applause 🫣)

2 Timothy 1:14 NIV
[14] Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

You can't do it alone, so when it feels hard, it doesn't mean you're a lazy sinner it's just a reminder that you need to move closer to the Father, and that your flesh thinks it has a chance. (By God's Grace, it doesn't)
So please don't walk this walk alone but lean on the Holy spirit.
The walk with God is not a walk of strength but of Faith.
And I never saw where Faith = your strength. I may stand to be corrected 🀍.

2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
[9] But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Philippians 4:13 NIV
[13] I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Psalms 73:26 NIV
[26] My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Shalom.
